Description
Here, we find ourselves in the Calanque de Sugiton, a morning in May.
The gaze glides between the two massive limestone cliffs. Their rocky walls, a luminous white, contrast with the vegetation. Pines cling to the steep walls.
In the center, crystal-clear water invites swimming. The shades range from deep turquoise to clear azure blue. The surface is calm. It reflects a cloudless sky.
The foreground reveals a beach of light pebbles. Natural light bathes the whole scene. It emphasizes the precision of the mineral textures and the freshness of the coast. This balanced composition captures the serenity of a Mediterranean cove. The space breathes. The distant horizon brings a sensation of openness and freedom. Each visual detail reinforces the natural and authentic aspect of this preserved place.
Presentation
At an early age he became aware of his passion for drawing and painting, and was introduced to the basic techniques of sketching, perspective and colour by his first teacher, the artist Josep Colomer.
In 1991, he began to study Fine Arts in Olot, and graduated in 1996 in Applied Arts and Crafts, specialising in Mural Painting.
Josep Maria Solà Colomer held his first solo exhibition at 16 years old and, encouraged by favourable reviews, set out on his artistic career devoting himself exclusively to painting. He holds several exhibitions every year, alternating between galleries that have built up a faithful public for his works. To date he has held over 75 solo exhibitions.
