A luminous figure emerges from a deep wall of burgundy and umber, her form built from thick, creamy strokes of oil that glow against the darkness. The textured canvas, scraped and layered with a palette knife, dissolves the contours into atmospheric light, leaving the pose graceful and quietly intimate. A flash of golden orange at the edges adds warmth and a spark of life to the moody palette. Expressive, sensual and timeless, this semi-abstract figurative work suits a bedroom, living room or studio, and will appeal to collectors of contemporary figurative art and emotional, painterly texture.
