Description
“Female Image.” Acrylic, stretched canvas, 60/60. A mysterious triptych of a female image. On the canvas before us is a composition united by a common female image, represented by three different heroines. Each of them symbolizes a certain facet of the feminine principle: wisdom, care, and charm. The first figure stands out with a mysterious magic. It is a woman of mature years, dressed in light, flowing garments that resemble mist, accentuating her calmness and grandeur. Around her, golden stars and a silver moon float gently, as if they are symbols of cosmic order and eternal wisdom, subject to her will. With her own hands, she can control cosmic bodies, creating the impression of complete power over the surrounding world. The image resembles the archetype of a sorceress, a woman who knows, capable of controlling the secrets of nature and the universe. The second heroine embodies motherhood and tenderness. She is depicted as a young girl with gentle facial features and kind eyes. The girl gently holds a beautiful snow‑white lily in her palms, carefully surrounding it with her arms, as if protecting it from the hardships of the outside world. This symbol of purity and gentleness underscores the role of the woman as the guardian of life, love, and harmony, creating coziness and warmth around herself. The third figure embodies seductiveness and beauty, captivating the attention of any viewer. She is dressed in a luxurious dress adorned with precious stones and elegant patterns. Her face is hidden behind a thin, semi‑transparent mask, which lends the image intrigue and mystery. This heroine embodies feminine attractiveness, the ability to captivate and win the hearts of those around her. The painting invites us to reflect on the multifaceted nature of women, to show the richness of the inner world of every member of the fairer sex, and to invite the viewer to unravel the mystery of each heroine and to experience the uniqueness of the female nature in all its splendor.
Presentation
Eva Pakhomova is a Russian contemporary artist working at the intersection of romantic surrealism and naïve painting. Her practice explores tenderness, emotional intimacy and the delicate relationship between the inner world of the individual and the surrounding reality.
From an early age, Pakhomova was immersed in creative practices including drawing, embroidery and collage. Her long-standing connection with religious art, churches and monasteries has also influenced her visual language. Elements reminiscent of icon painting — frontal compositions, symbolic figures and a contemplative atmosphere — are transformed into a personal contemporary mythology.
Tenderness is a central theme throughout her work. Through fragile angels, cats, flowers and other recurring motifs, Pakhomova creates poetic narratives about love, vulnerability, dreams and the need for care. Her deliberately naïve, almost childlike visual language allows her to approach complex psychological and philosophical subjects with warmth and sincerity. Behind the apparent simplicity of her characters and stories lies an exploration of emotional states, desires and the quiet inner experiences that shape human life.
Her works often resemble intimate fairy tales, parables or fragments of dreams. They invite the viewer to slow down and consider the importance of compassion — towards oneself, towards others and towards one's own dreams.
Pakhomova works primarily with acrylic on canvas and paper, using distinctive multilayered techniques that create depth and tactile richness within her compositions. Her artistic influences include Salvador Dalí, Frida Kahlo and Vincent van Gogh.
