Jusqu'à la déchirure ! Before street-art, 2004

Bze (2004)

Glossy paper.

This print is from the book "OVERGROUND, déroutants voyageurs", 2006, Bze & Tomski, Paris, Editions Alternatives.

This unique print captures the essence of urban margins. The gaze falls upon a cold industrial architecture, punctuated by spontaneous graffiti. The contrast between the rigor of the buildings and the chaos of the lettering highlights a social tension.
The image is extended by a manual ink intervention. A white calligraphy crosses the foreground with force. The text imposes itself as a cry, a visual tear that breaks the perspective.
The artist here combines their mastery of analog photography with their practice of marking. This hybrid approach transforms the sociological document into a plastic composition. The sepia tone brings a timeless dimension to this street scene.
Created in 2004, this work testifies to the Underground aesthetic before the institutionalization of street art. The support is fine art paper, guaranteeing optimal preservation of the contrasts. The final rendering favors the materiality and the raw trace of the line on the paper.
