A streetscape reconfigured as an impressionistic noir. Shot from the dark interior of a bar, the frame focuses on a man and a woman sitting just outside on the patio, turning them into heavy silhouettes that invite speculation. The patio light string hangs like a sharp line across the middle ground, its bleeding yellow halos hitting the cold, damp glass. Behind the condensation, the couple's leaning figures suggest a confidential, low-volume conversation—the kind of late-night talk where words don't need to carry far to be understood. It is a photograph about the texture of the night itself, balancing sharp foreground water beads against soft, floating blocks of light and shadow.
Presentation
Dorly Ninio is a photographer and film editor whose work focuses on street and documentary photography. She lived and photographed in London during the 2000s, producing photo essays for published articles in England, and later moved to New York City where she built a career editing documentary films. Alongside her work as an editor, she never stopped photographing. Her images are mainly documentary in nature, capturing incidental unposed moments as personal, observational daily records of her immediate surroundings. She is currently based in Paris.
