Description
Colored lithograph on wove paper realized by Enrico Benaglia in 1980s.
Edition of 130.
Hand signed and numbered in pencil.
This expressive lithograph by Enrico Benaglia reveals the artist's distinctive fusion of fantasy and tenderness. The composition centers on the oversized head of a young girl with luminous, wide eyes, her braided hair tied with a red ribbon and extending playfully across the image. In the background, a whimsical vignette unfolds with a small, stylized figure carrying a house-like structure beneath a row of trees, infusing the scene with a surreal narrative.
Executed in soft pastel tones heightened with vivid accents, the work exemplifies Benaglia's ability to blend childlike innocence with subtle irony. The disproportionate scale of the figure's features emphasizes emotional resonance over realism, a hallmark of the artist's poetic imagination.
