Portrait Of An Artist Vs Pollution, 2025

Miquaseo

An iconic work of contemporary art, David Hockney's embodies an idealised, luminous and almost peaceful vision of the modern world.

With , this iconic scene is reinterpreted as a mosaic composed entirely of images related to pollution and contemporary environmental damage.

Each fragment depicts degraded landscapes, waste, industrial smoke and visible traces of humanity's impact on the planet.

Assembled, these images recreate the elegant, serene scene of the original artwork, creating a powerful contrast between an idealised aesthetic and ecological reality.

From a distance: the quiet, instantly recognisable elegance of an iconic artwork.
Up close: a direct confrontation with the environmental consequences of our way of life.

Printed in high definition on 5 mm PMMA acrylic glass, the artwork offers exceptional depth, luminosity and colour intensity. Its transparent edges create an elegant floating effect.

Each fragment is selected, assembled and adjusted by the artist. Miquaseo's artworks are not generated by artificial intelligence: the computer is used solely as a tool to support an artistic process and a composition conceived entirely by the artist.

Created in Miquaseo's studio in Saint-Paul-de-Vence and printed in Italy, the artwork is delivered ready to hang, with an aluminium mounting system included.

Each edition is numbered, bears a printed reproduction of the artist's signature and comes with an official certificate of authenticity.

A personalized dedication can be added to the certificate of authenticity upon request.
