Description
Miquel Aparici breathes new life into forgotten materials. He transforms discarded utensils and industrial remnants into three-dimensional beings. This sculpture exemplifies his mastery of assembly. Wood and metal merge to create a creature of quiet strength. The lines are simple yet expressive. Every element serves a purpose in the overall composition. The artist invites the viewer into a playful game of observation. One discovers familiar shapes repurposed into an imaginative form. The tactile contrast between the weathered leather and the cold metal adds depth. The figure stands with a curious poise. It captures a delicate balance between mechanical rigidity and organic flow. This artwork demonstrates a commitment to simplicity and elegance. It challenges the imagination to see beyond the original function of the objects. The piece is grounded by sturdy legs that transition from dark metal to warm wood. This creates a seamless narrative of recycling and rebirth. The final form emerges from a collection of disused moulds and antique parts.
Presentation
Aparici's work is characterized by simplicity, as most of his pieces gather few elements, resulting in very elegant compositions with simple lines, which, combined with his creativity, give his pieces a great expressive power.
He transforms his drawings into three-dimensional beings, using the technique of assembly with old utensils as well as molds and disused objects made of wood and metal. Since then, he has produced over 350 pieces, representing all kinds of animals of different shapes and sizes, from life-size elephants to tiny insects.
Using the same technique, his sculptures also include musical instruments, rockets, masks and a collection of "secret books". Unusual figures that test our imagination and invite us to discover the elements that make up each piece, in a playful game of observation requiring the complicity of the spectator.
