Tangible darkness advancing, swift as imagination, silent as doom. The immensity of nature rushes over the viewer with incredible speed and a vast and palpable presence seems to overwhelm the world.
Reason of joy and celebration for Inca mythology, of catastrophe or unfortunate events announced in religious texts, or simple triggers of disparate myths or legends, eclipses – lunar or solar – have managed to arouse fascination throughout the history of mankind.
Following the perfect alignment between the Moon, the Sun and the Earth, they have invited man to reason like a scientist and rhapsodize like a poet, while gathering thousands of people under the same purpose: to observe an inescapable phenomenon. In that sense eclipse, the new exhibition of GALERIA AZUR MADRID, is ready to host a group of contemporary artists, so that we can witness a new cultural event.
The new narrative proposal, that goes from geometric abstractions, full planes, saturated stains, sweeping palettes to figurations and symbolic elements, interpellate as if it were a strange whirlpool of stylistic allegiances, while inviting the viewer to observe every detail that reappears in the works, not so much for the singularity but for the dependence that emerges between the artists, the space and the curatorial script.
