Among the climbing plants eager for heights, outstretched bodies soar to caress the skies, like birds irresistibly drawn to the stars. In this peaceful and lush atmosphere, the JOA Casino in La Seyne-sur-Mer hosts "L'Envol," a painting exhibition by Claire Bonnet-Masimbert, presented by Galerie Séraphine and dedicated to the theme of growth, from July 1 to 31, 2025.
Claire Bonnet-Masimbert, a visual artist from Montpellier, explores the multiple forms of growth in a lyrical style, rich in color and inspired by plants. Beyond the visual richness of her compositions, the body occupies a prominent place: it shines in harmony with nature, walking the paths of personal growth, inner transformation, self-improvement, creative ascension, and resilience in the face of adversity.
In the movements of her figures, we perceive a desire to always reach higher, a desire to escape weightlessness. Like the plants that surround them, these figures seem to flourish organically, finding their own rhythm in their ascent. Some works suggest, through their pictorial touches, a purification, a subtle elevation of form towards the essence of an internalized feeling, as evidenced by Opus V (2025). Sometimes, as in Consolation (2024), bodies tenderly embrace, becoming a source of peace after torment, expressing this profound need to carry
the other and to be carried, in order to be reborn, to rise, stronger.
Constantly searching for new forms and new languages, Claire Bonnet-Masimbert pursues a profoundly evolving artistic quest, where each work bears the trace of an intimate and transformative experience.
As a natural extension of his artistic approach, "L'Envol" invites us to explore, in a personal and universal way, the being and the paths to its fulfillment.
