Presentation
Multimedia artist, Rômolo started in the graphic art world with the zine Chapa, produced in 1999, and later graduating in design at PUC-PR.
His longest reasearch started from the notion of taveling journals as a narrative about the experience of meeting others and getting to know yourself. In that context, Rômolo did residencies at Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, Hungary, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Mexico and Guatemala.
Selected exhibitions include group shows at Museu da Gravura and Museu Municipal das Artes, both in Curitiba, a spot at Elephant Parede in Thailand, and other shows in galleries and art fairs in Brasil, Portugal, USA and France.
In 2018 his works were selected for the 9th Ibero-america Ilustra and awarded by Society for News Design.
Rômolo's notion of traveling journals as stories about the experience of meeting others and oneself is his point of departure. In his graphic magazines, he captures the essence of each landscape he encounters and transforms it into a library of textures, objects, shapes and characters which will then be arranged in countless compositions mixing techniques of drawing, painting and collage.
