Biography
Chen Danqing is a Chinese-American artist, writer, and art critic, based in Shanghai. Having graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts, the artist is known for his realist oil paintings, and also his celebrated depictions of Tibetan monks.
Over the course of his career, Danqing's work has been exhibited across the globe. Of note, his design contributions to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games opening ceremony rendered him a symbol of traditional Chinese design in the 21st century.
