Presentation
It was in 1972 that he began to draw… during his apprenticeship as an upholsterer at the Paris Chamber of Commerce and to discover the history of art. Creator and business manager of the Maison Tapisserie d'Issy for 43 years, Christophe d'Alençon in 1987 is known for his creations exhibited in trade fairs.
He was the first to create a line of children's club chairs in all colors in imitation leather which are sold all over the world. He creates window displays, chairs and sofas for major perfumers, jewelers and unusual items, ties and other accessories for major fashion designers.
It was in 1987 that Christophe d'Alençon discovered the Bigouden country... and fell in love with the Breton landscapes and its population. In 1992, he bought a penty in Pont l'Abbé. Self-taught painter, always on the lookout for new techniques, he began to work with leather on his paintings… it was the beginning of a work developed over time. In 2015, he settled permanently in Pont-l'Abbé and was able to invest in the production of leather paintings, in his workshop, an old penty that he restored in his image.
