Presentation

Far from the skinny girls of the magazines, the models of Jeanne Lorioz, a painter born in 1954, are all curvy.

After studying at the Superior School of Applied Arts, Jeanne Lorioz worked as an interior decorator. During her studies, she specialized in modeling and anatomy, two tendencies that are reflected in her work.

The women depicted by Jeanne Lorioz are descendants of the "Nanas" of Niki de Saint-Phalle. Sultry and provocative, they honor woman in its entirety. With just a glance, these embassadors of pleasure inspire us a sense of epicureanism and joviliality.

Two elements stand out when looking at these women, their light clothes and their particularly developed hind, highlighted by their position and their tight dresses. Which are alluring but never vulgar. Alone, between friends or with children, they are represented in their daily life. Jeanne Lorioz shows us through her paintings, that we can be a woman and a mother at the same time, without being limited to a single role.

A mixture of humor and sensuality which makes Jeanne Lorioz's work endearing and attaching.
