Born in 1966 in Lyons. Lives and works in Paris.

He was part of the first promotion of the Ecole Supérieure de l'Image d'Angoulême, from which he graduated in 1987. He first worked for the Disney studios in Montreuil before publishing his first book, Foligatto in 1991. Acclaimed unanimously by critics, this work was immediately followed by the Le Bibendum Céleste trilogy and the Léon La Came series with Sylvain Chomet on the screenplay, for which he won the Alph'Art for Best Album at the Angoulême festival in 1998.

Each new publication is an opportunity for him to explore new avenues and go further in thinking about the narrative and graphic codes of the 9th Art. He will go so far as to produce the autobiography of a drawing with Journal d'un Fantôme. The Louvre Museum will call on him to create a splendid mise en abîme of the museum and archaeological research, with Glacial Period, the plates of which will be exhibited at the Louvre. In 2009 before being presented in Taiwan or even in Tokyo. He was a laureate in 2008 of the Villa Kujoyama residency program in Kyoto. In 2015, he was one of the first European artists to be approached by the prestigious manga magazine Shueisha to produce a manga, La République du Catch. In 2016, he obtained his first retrospective at the Center d'Art Le Quartier in Quimper. This exhibition was also presented during the Pulp Festival at the Ferme du Buisson in 2017. In 2018 he published his first novel with Albin Michel Jeunesse editions Les amours d'unphantom en temps de guerre", for which he won the Friday prize. In 2019 appears VisaTransit, autobiographical comic strip in 3 volumes, published by Gallimard. In 2023, he exhibited his work related to architecture at the Thomas Henry Museum of Fine Arts in Cherbourg, as part of the 11th biennial of the 9th art.
