Biography
Marie-France Garrigues was born in Montauban, the city of Ingres and Bourdelle. During her teenage years, she studied drawing in the workshop of sculptor Flavio de Faveri. These years allowed her to quickly express herself through this art. At the same time, scientific studies led her to live in French Polynesia, where she worked as an investment operations manager in the building sector for the Territory of French Polynesia, and later as a project manager for the President.
Upon returning to mainland France in the 2000s, she diversified her artistic techniques, dedicating herself primarily to oil painting after studying this medium at the Beaux-Arts in Paris with Gilles Marey.
In 2010, painting became her sole activity, and she participated in various solo and group exhibitions in France and internationally, sharing her art worldwide.
In 2018, she was named a Member of the Société des Artistes Français; in 2019, a Member of the Taylor Foundation; in 2022, a Member of the Salon Violet; and in 2024, a Member of the Salon d'Automne.
The city inspires her, and she enjoys exploring architecture and its diverse perceptions: capturing freedom, modernity, the passage of time, light, solitude, and silence.
