Yang Yongliang studied traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy. Inspired by the ancestral culture, including the famous Shanshui traditional mountain landscapes, he uses photography and creates from scratch a new world of illusions, a vision between dream and nightmare, both futuristic and secular. Yang Yongliang’s work goes beyond the notion of pastiche.
