Miloslava Svobodová Wyckmans (* 27.8.1936 Jičín, + 8.2.2005 Mechelen) 1951–1955 Secondary Vocational School of Jewelry, Turnov 1955–1961 VŠUP Prague Miloslava Svobodová-Wyckmans graduated from the School of Arts and Crafts jewellery school in Turnov in northern Bohemia and subsequently (in 1955 –1961) studied at the University of Applied Arts in Prague with a professor Karel Štipl and docent Václav Plátek. After completing her studies, she was appointed the head designer of the glass foundry Skrdlovice in Moravia. In 1966, she undertook a long study trip, during which she visited Belgium and the Netherlands, which completely changed her life. She met hers while visiting glassworks in Val-Saint-Lambert and Leerdam, future husband Jan Wyckmans. Miloslava Svobodová did return to Czechoslovakia, but after a short time she got married and left to be with her husband in Belgium and work in Belgium.
