"Agate's paintings seem to let slip stamen, modesty. The imprint of great sensitivity, like an indescribable lightness of being. All the realism is thus revealed by the delicacy of the line, by the precision of things, by the play of shadows and light, but also by this succinct appearance of the subject which brings his paintings closer to the haikus: very short poems in which, sublime finesse, no longer even shines through the work of eraser and which seem to be summarize in a few pictorial touches which set the scene, colors, reliefs and contrasts ...
