Marie-Dominique Willemot

Self-taught artist, Marie-Dominique Willemot paints in complete freedom. His painting is resolutely abstract and always colorful. It is a hedonistic yet deceptively light painting that can only arouse emotions. Marie-Dominique Willemot follows two very personal directions in abstraction: Forms and impressions. A pictorial guiding thread between the two: color, the absence of a straight line, works that never start from the center, points and circles, outlines. In all his paintings, there is no central motif, no orientation of the gaze. 

It is the spectator's freedom of interpretation that is at stake. In the shapes, curved and flexible lines that come together like pieces of a puzzle with chance and the need for balance. An acrylic painting with opaque areas and strong color contrasts that catch the eye and never leave you indifferent. Relief, metallic paints and some outlines give all their dimension to his paintings. The shapes are drawn without any intention of representation, only the balance of the composition guides the gesture and the choice of colors. 

Everyone can see what they want. Impressions are more spontaneous, they are abstractions on moments of life, sensations and emotions. The prints are made up of successive layers of paint that overlap and complement each other with redesigned elements on them. Everyone can find sensations or find new emotions there.
