Presentation

Atila Biro was born in 1931 in Budapest and died in 1987 in Paris.

Trained as an architect, artist at heart, Atila was obsessed with the integration of visual arts and color in urban spaces. He received numerous public commissions, including a 50 m² wall in La Defense. Tireless designer he works in a myriad of mediums, inventing for each processes aimed to produce an effect, an expression, and emotion: small copper works engraved in velvety blacks, whimsical and virtuoso monotypes, watercolors whose color is diluted in the thickness of the paper in a haphazard gesture, large-format oil paintings.

His work is inspired by the great artists of his century: Klee, Léger, Chagall and Picasso. He also took inspiration from the warriors of Assyrian reliefs and from the ancient art of the Near East. But the unique figures that come from his dreams or nightmares feed our imagination with the same crazy speed the painter's brush.
