Biography
Jérémie Leroux, whose artist name is Enzo Oto, is a contemporary French painter, a follower of surrealist games, primitive arts and ancient arts. He has succeeded throughout his career to create a surprising and colorful universe. Always in search of faces, bodies and creatures of all kinds, he draws his abundant imagination from various themes that are close to his heart, among which, Sicily, his father's native land, which occupies a place of predilection in his achievements. The other subjects of his paintings are the expression of deep internal emotions embodied by raw lines that recall both his fascination with ancient Greco-Roman art and his original and creative imagination.
Inspiration is immediate; the first lines are spontaneous, occupy the space and prepare the ground for the colors which then come to give life to the forms; define them. The colors intertwine, dialogue and collide. Other forms begin to appear, become more expressive, more intense, more luminous. The canvas then becomes an invitation to travel and explore a rich, complex and multiple universe. Certain creations evoke shapes and features of cubist inspiration, which embellish his subjects; give them relief and let them glimpse more details.
His work uses different tools, acrylic paints, watercolors, markers and mixed media; in particular the illumination from which he is inspired to sublimate the lines of his drawings and his universe. He recently tried the use of natural pigments, the use of which gives way to a play of light and vaporous and subtle colors.
