Patrick Fischer

I have been a painter for almost twenty years. I am Alsatian by origin and become Catalan by adoption and by heart.

My passion for painting began when I saw the magnificent works of an Alsatian watercolorist Evelyne Schmidt. The purity and romanticism of watercolor awakened my sense of the beauty of colors.

The pastel technique was passed on to me by my teacher Christiane Bernole who has become a faithful friend. I have since taken a different look at the things around me. "The shadow and the light" always awakens in me feelings of joy.

I tried my hand at different types of subjects but the landscapes remain for me my preference.

I remain fascinated by all the works of impressionist painters such as Cézanne or Pissarro.

The harmony of colors, the beauty of a landscape allows me to escape and awakens in me emotions of happiness.

I think that painting is not reserved for "the elite" but on the contrary, is available to anyone wishing to express themselves other than through speech. I would like everyone to be able to feel the awakening of certain senses sometimes asleep!

Still in the search for knowledge of the Arts, it was in 2014 that I joined L'Atelier de Théza. Martine Coupaud, who runs this all-technical school and run by two teachers, has left me the Presidency since January 2018.

It was in 2017 that the prestigious Arts-Sciences and Letters Academy of Paris honored me with the diploma and the tin medal.

"To exchange is to progress ..." is my motto that I now apply within associations where I give painting lessons. I enjoy transmitting in my turn.
