A unique journey

Technical director, immersed in the industrial world, Pierre-Etienne Mary is unable to remain indifferent when other models and drawings invade his mind.

At 35, he decided to turn the page of an established professional life to let his passion breathe and take precedence.

Pierre-Etienne Mary enrolled in the BOULE school where he worked with rigor, the constraints and requirements linked to metal.

In his first experiences, he rubs shoulders with the restoration of objects. For each client, a new challenge to take up, a new form in the making, a new perspective.

Over time, the need for aesthetics gains over the immediate employability inherent in the restaurant business. The creator wins over the restorer.

Beyond the work on the material itself, the expression of movement resonates through the capture of light.

Pierre-Etienne MARY's artistic journey

From craftsmanship to art or the atypical career of Pierre-Etienne Mary.

This technical director unable to remain seated when models and drawings invade his mind, chooses at the age of 35 to turn the page of a life framed by professional security.

The passion that inhabits him has taken precedence over his ordinary life. So back on the school benches, but this time it is at the Boule school that Pierre-Etienne Mary will give free rein to his imagination while nourishing it with a solid technical background. He then tackles the restoration of decorative objects: each client allows him to study a new form, a new way of working, a new state of mind. Far from being discouraged in the face of multiple puzzles, this hard worker devotes his patience to finding suitable solutions.

Over time and orders, the achievements with highly regulated specifications give way to a more aesthetic desire. Pierre-Etienne Mary then uses the practical solutions of his work to create works of art imbued with technicality. The light is captured by the shimmering of its surfaces, the spectator's movement changes his vision of the work. No question of being static, the tin paintings, artistic plaques, metal objects give their environment mysterious reflections.
