Biography
Born in 1958, Mauro Benetti lives and works in Turin (the place of birth of Arte Povera, of which he is a successor). He is a graduate of the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti di Torino.
Animating the walls of his drawings and paintings with pure colors: pink, blue, green and yellow or boosting the space of his installations, Mauro Benetti plunges us into his vibrating universe and into his cosmic symbolic imagery in which light acquires an almost plastic dimension.
The vibration and oscillation effects are born from recycled materials that he integrates in his work: he uses cardboard that is painted or cut into various shapes and that has witnessed a story and has a memory and memories.
