Les couleurs et les lignes du Japon
From February 1, 2020 to March 14, 2020
Joji Nakamura was born in 1974 in Chiba, Japan.
In the 70s and 80s, nothing seemed to destine him to become a prominent artist in the emerging Tokyo scene. As a child, he followed with wonder the work of his mother calligrapher but Joji's interest in art only really arose in Santa Barbara, California. There he discovered not only the work of his Japanese artist friends - among the most recognized on the contemporary Japanese scene - but also their lifestyle, in which he recognized himself.
Joji Nakamura decides to learn painting on his own and throws himself into it. Working for more than fifteen years in black and white - like his mother -, it was in 2017 that his friends convinced him to grab tubes of color and use them on the canvas.
