Born in Saint Petersburg in 1959. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg. The artist took part in the creation of the Saint Petersburg Doll Museum, Museum of Handicrafts Toys and also in the creation of the Saint Petersburg Puppet Gallery. From 1992 to 1994-Professor at the Higher School of Fashion and Plastic Art in Saint-Petersburg. From 1994 to 1996 – Professor at the University of Human Sciences in Saint Petersburg. Member of the Association of Artists of Russia since 1998. Member of the International Association of Puppeteers since 2006. Roman Shustrov's technique is internationally recognized as unique. Roman Shustrov exhibits in Russia, Italy, France, Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Austria, USA.
