
Biography
Born in 1934 in Sweden, Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd is a contemporary sculptor and painter, remembered by the artistic community for his autobiographical and politically-engaged installation pieces and large-scale public sculptures. In 1985, he produced his iconic Non-violence sculpture, following the assassination of The Beatles' musician John Lennon. In 1986, he was awarded the Prince Eugen Medal for painting, an honor conferred by the King of Sweden.
To date, Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd's work has been sold at auction numerous times, and remains on permanent display at various locations throughout his native Sweden. The artist died in 2016 from complications attributed to pneumonia.
