Biography
Hayv Kahraman is an Iraqi-American-Swedish artist. Born in Baghdad but currently based in Los Angeles, Kahraman's paintings explore gender, body politics and the marginalization of diasporic existence.
Recent solo exhibitions of Kahraman's works have been held in London, Honolulu and Georgia. Her paintings can also be found in the collections of the British Museum, The Museum of Contemporary Art, California, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
