This vibrant and meticulously detailed artwork masterfully captures the essence of a serene countryside village nestled amidst rolling hills and lush greenery. Dominated by a backdrop of majestic blue mountains, the painting radiates a sense of tranquility and harmony with nature. At the heart of this pastoral scene is a cluster of quaint, red-roofed houses, each house adorably distinctive yet collectively harmonizing into a coherent village aesthetic. Their clean white walls stand out vividly against the greenery, inviting the viewer to imagine the warmth and simplicity within. In the foreground, the scene bustles with lively daytime activity. Villagers are depicted engaging in everyday tasks, adding dynamism and a narrative quality to the composition. On the left, a mother and daughter engage in a tender interaction under a blossoming tree, while nearby, two children play with a cart, symbolizing the innocence and joy of youth. The center of the artwork is characterized by a sense of community, with a couple strolling hand-in-hand, children riding bicycles, and farmers transporting goods on a horse-drawn cart. On the right, a villager raises his hand in a friendly gesture, perhaps calling out to a neighbor or greeting an unseen friend. Beside him, a small open-air market stalls display vibrant orange fruits, indicative of the community's agricultural abundance and the local economy’s thriving nature. Every element in the painting, from the meticulously detailed foliage to the animated human figures, is imbued with a sense of life and motion. The artist’s use of vibrant colors – particularly the lush greens of the fields, the deep blues of the mountains, and the varied hues of the flowers and trees – creates a visually captivating contrast that draws the viewer’s eye and conveys a sense of liveliness and prosperity. Overall, this artwork is a poignant celebration of rural life, evoking a profound sense of nostalgia and admiration for simpler times. It is an assertion of the enduring beauty and significance of human connection, community, and harmony with nature. The meticulous attention to detail, combined with the vibrant color palette, makes this piece both a visual feast and a narrative-rich tableau.

Born in 1950 in Porto Feliz, Brazil - Since her childhood, spent in the historic city of Porto Feliz in the state of São Paulo, she remembers most of the scenes she recounts in her paintings.
Although she did not have her first exhibition until 1980, at the Museo da Casa Brasileira, in the capital of São Paulo, Ana Maria Dias has participated in group exhibitions since 1975, when she showed her paintings at the Salon des Plastic Arts in Porto Feliz, and in other cities.
From 1982, his paintings can be found in art galleries in France (Galerie Naïfs du Monde Entier in Paris and Galerie Jacqueline Bricard in Lourmarin), in Switzerland (Galerie Pro Arte Kasper in Morges) and in Israel ( Gina Gallery in Tel Aviv). His painting evokes the happy days of his childhood. It represents old and beautiful farms, with its orchards and its workers in the fields, children's games, simple means of transport and life in a fertile countryside surrounded by mountains.
"Ana Maria Dias' canvases become documentary elements of life without dialectical artifices", observes the critic Jorge Anthonio da Silva at the presentation of the catalog of his individual exhibition at the Jacques Ardies Gallery in 1993.
Other individual exhibitions were held in the same gallery in 1983, 1986, 1993, 1998 and 2009. His paintings were chosen to illustrate greeting cards for several Brazilian voluntary entities, and were reproduced by the House of Max Fourny edition in the books, "La Cité et les Naïfs" and "l'Arbre et les Naïfs".
