Ivonaldo was one of the most important and well-known Brazilian naive artist. unfortunatelly, he died in 2016 after many years of fighting against a illness called "Ataxia".
The birds salers is a typical scene from Pernambuco, Brazilian State in the North-east of the country. When Ivonaldo was young, birds were raised as pets like dogs or cats and trading at street markets was something natural and friendly. Today, this commerce is totally prohibited but some people continue like the company of beautifull parrots and arraras.
