The exhibition "ICONIC SOUL" exhibits a series of Iranian artists whose works speak of the human soul and the trace of humanity. The soul (from the Latin anima, “breath, respiration”) is both the vital and spiritual principle, immanent or transcendent, which would animate the body of a living being (human, animal or even plant). By metonymy, the word “soul” commonly designates the living being itself, animated by this principle. Generally speaking, a trace is the influence of an event on its en- vironment. All the consequences of an event can therefore be considered as a trace. The term trace is sometimes considered synonymous with the terms "mark", "imprint". Nevertheless, can be considered as a "mark", the traces associated with a notion of identification, as an "imprint", the traces associated with a lasting modification of material and as an "index", the traces. associated with the desire to reconstitute a past event for which the hypothesis of a probable scenario is posed. The symbolic representations of the soul are numerous, as well as the beliefs about it. It is found in most civili- zations through religious, philosophical, psychological or popular concep- tions. The term "soul" is often used as a synonym for "spirit". Memory refers to both the ability of an individual or a human group to remember past facts and to remember himself.
