Presentation
Dom (k) is an artist from the city of Dunkirk. For several years Dom (k) has exhibited his work in different galleries, questioning our perspective on subjects that touch him. Close to the news, he questions what he thinks are essential. Through his "Made-Ready" Dom (k) uses images from our day-to-day life such as advertising posters to inspire us to think about themes and topics that we often don't see.
He creates the "Made-Ready" (or collages) as an Art both decorative and interrogative on our certainties, evidence in the face of chaos and upheaval in our society. A reflection on the world that surrounds us or that we create. A subtle game between voluntary and involuntary memory. Close to Art Brut, it defines its resolutely abstract positioning for a theme that is nevertheless figurative of our society.
Despite various attempts at hierarchical classification, his work is in no way allegorical. It is concrete and materialistic. it is a work of narrative incarnation. He translates his emotions into evolving series whose themes address the place of man, woman, sex, politics in a rapidly changing society.
