Spanish artists
Velázquez, Goya, Sorolla, or even Picasso: the Spanish artists have significantly marked the history of art far beyond the borders of their native country. From the Golden Century until the 20th century, these essential figures of the Spanish art scene have managed to withstand the times and are still part of a timeless, didactic artistic memory. As denouncers of obscurantism on the fringes of established political regimes, many artists chose art as a means of denunciation. They would painfully and vividly paint unflattering portraits of Spanish society. The diversity of their messages and styles feed the history of the art world today. Many modern and contemporary artists join and enrich the Spanish artistic scene and become part of the continuity of their predecessors.
