"Water Into Wine" is an acrylic painting on canvas inspired by the miracles of life and wonder all around us.

Through the language of art, David Krilov is a modern abstract expressionist artist influenced by nature, particularly the ocean water, sky, and trees, as well as current culture. Often, his abstract art can imaginatively denote landscapes and vast horizons, but ultimately, David's desire is for the viewer to experience the paintings through their own subjective experience and life story. Just as music strikes the soul, David's visual art invokes the deepest parts of our soul through paint. To this end, he uses a couple of techniques and styles. He stains and pushes paint into the canvas, creating spaces, edges, and gestures that are used with layer over layer of paint. He flares out paint one over another, erasing through burns, layering veils of stains, as well as allowing fluid paint to take a life on its own. For you, the collector, David's paintings never have a finality each time you view his work. Rather, his paintings unravel with time and exposure.

In addition to abstract expressionist paintings, some of his work combines abstract expressionism with a more modern form of medium: street art stenciling and spray. Often, these paintings are social commentaries on our modern life and times. Yet, they provide a striking beauty that exists between the balance of reality and hope.

His major influences include Jules Olitski, Mark Rothko, Clyfford Still, Barnett Newman, Gerhard Richter, Makoto Fujimura, Sam Lock, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Banks, and William Turner.

He currently lives with his wife and kids in the beautiful log-cabin, biking, and lake community of Medford Lakes, New Jersey, and has participated in a number of local exhibitions, as well as having his work shipped to collectors around the world.
