The artwork depicted is an evocative surrealist painting that captivates the viewer with its dream-like narrative and distinctive elements. Central to the composition is a complex, ethereal structure, appearing as an intricate blend of organic and skeletal forms. The mother's soul entity stretches across the canvas, seemingly disintegrating into the surrounding environment, suggesting themes of decay and transcience. The background transitions from a dark, stormy sky on the left to a softer, more tranquil horizon on the right, creating a striking contrast between chaos and calm. This vast, open landscape enhances the surreal quality of the scene, with elements placed thoughtfully to evoke curiosity and contemplation. To the left, two figures engage in an enigmatic scene. One, cloaked in a white shroud, appears to be deeply absorbed in their activity, while the other, seemingly emitting light, interacts with an unseen object. This interaction generates an otherworldly aura, indicating a moment of revelation or reflection. In the foreground, the terrain is depicted with meticulous attention to ants, skull, portraying an arid, almost Martian expanse punctuated by small, solitary objects. These objects, scattered yet deliberate, augment the narrative ambiguity, inviting endless interpretation. To the far right, a lone figure sits in contemplation near a checkered area, reminiscent of a chessboard, which could symbolize strategic thinking or the delicate balance of life and death. This element further enriches the painting's complexity, suggesting layers of meaning and a rich inner dialogue. Overall, the painting is a compelling exploration of existential themes, rendered through a masterful blend of surreal imagery and meticulous detail. Its unique aspects, from the spectral central figure to the contrasting atmospheric elements, command attention and provoke deep philosophical reflection, making it a quintessential piece of surrealist art.

Presentation
Aziz Anzabi is a British artist of Iranian origin born in 1970, who lives and works in London, United Kingdom. He exhibits numerous works in the United States, the Netherlands and Iran. Anzabi mixes an almost extinct Iranian style of peeled paper on canvas with traditional oil on canvas techniques. Aziz's works are very socially engaged -- his latest series, "Life," explores people forced to immigrate because of war. Engaging with contemporary issues through a surrealist lens, the artist's paintings feature voluminous forms, intricate details and striking contrasts.
