Anthea Missy is an artist from the street art culture living in Brussels. She tells stories with cute characters from her original creation with a pop influence and youthful vibe. Her fresh work revolves around love and freedom while tackling social and political topics. From a graphic point of view, she likes to use a minimalist color palette and flowing lines while mixing organic shapes.
Among his most iconic murals to date, we note Ihsane Jarfi (Brussels), a portrait of an LGTBQI victim as part of an awareness campaign on the integration of diversity (Brussels); Women Bike the city (Brussels), a work which considers the bicycle as a means of freedom allowing to reconnect with one's child "self" and a tool for female emancipation, Save our Trees (Cape Town) against deforestation, or its monochrome tags "L'amour Vaincra".
A true multidisciplinary and versatile artist conceiving her projects as "campaigns", Anthea Missy goes from sketches on paper to digital, from the idea to the wall, from the wall to screen printing and canvases, from the licked fresco to the tag, using graffiti , collage, brushes, rollers, oil, acrylic with a strong taste for experimentation. She is interested in urban art, current events, appropriation, its characters, and can also tend towards a dimension that is both figurative and abstract or conceptual, historical and classical as well as progressive.
Finally, she also particularly appreciates documenting her work and her process autobiographically via social networks.
