Hiroko Okamoto was born in 1957 in Japan. After studying painting at the University of Musashino in Tokyo, she entered the Sokel School of Fine Arts to specialize in printmaking. His first personal exhibition takes place in 1981 in Tokyo. She had been a member of the Japanese Printmaking Association since 1982.

Hiroko Okamoto exhibits in Japan, France, Italy and Canada. Prematurely disappeared in her fiftieth year, the Japanese artist left a rich and original work consisting of more than 3000 drawings and etchings.

In the fall of 2001, she moved to Paris in accordance with her childhood dreams. She then began a new series of drawings and engravings on the theme of nature (trees, foliage, plants). The artist then engraves in the Chaville workshop, then in the Collective Workshop of the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. In 2007, the city of Saint-Ouen awarded him a workshop. That same year she went to Japan for a personal exhibition.
