Academic painter

Anna Hausova has been living and creating art in Prešov, Slovakia since 1982. From 1982 to 1996, she focused primarily on monumental works for architecture (painting, objects, textile sculpture) and illustration (collaborating with the East Slovak Publishing House and the Slovak Pedagogical Publishing House).

Since 1996, she has mainly dedicated herself to free creation—drawing, painting, objects, and installations. In her drawings, especially large-scale ones, balladic motifs prevail. Her paintings feature abstracted motifs of landscapes and the universe. In her objects and installations, the themes of creation and decay, transformations of the human body, and transitions from one dimension to another are often highlighted using light to underscore the significance of the work.

Another prominent theme in her objects and installations is the existential uncertainty of contemporary people, especially women and their position in society.

From 1992 to 2013, she taught at the University of Prešov, Department of Fine Arts and Art Education, as an assistant professor for Drawing, Painting, and Textile Design. She has held numerous individual and group exhibitions at home and abroad. Currently, she works as a freelance artist.

She is a member of the Slovak Union of Visual Arts and the Per Spectrum association.
