Miles Elah

This multidisciplinary artist was born in 1979 in Vic, Spain. From an early age, Miles Elah showed a keen interest in artistic creation and more particularly, painting. It is a passion and although it is not trivial for a child, the illustration and the color call out to him. Instinctively, he integrates certain approaches, he observes a lot, he is self-taught! As a teenager at the end of the 80s, he discovered graffiti, the artistic movement is booming in the big European capitals. This movement is expressed mainly by an illegal practice and by acts of vandalism. Miles goes with the flow and grows with it. Graffiti is emancipated, it is a discipline in its own right which is endowed with a certain artistic awareness. The young man evolves with these new artistic forms called Street Art ... pure understatement, for him. All this cultural movement that has been created around graffiti is simply recovered in order to be better accepted by society. After his adolescence, Miles became fascinated by the history of Art, the Grand Masters and the Renaissance era. This is one of the elements that will influence his work the most: Graffiti / Street Art / Renaissance, this is the style that Miles Elah will impose. His technique is mixed, inventive, creative but above all surprising and very accomplished. He paints with aerosol spray on the walls, but uses pencil, oil, acrylic, ink on canvas, paper, wood ... thus breaking habits and monotony, always in the concern new artistic proposals. A permanent bridge between the excellence of the Renaissance period and the work of art of today, uninhibited and democratized, available to all mainly on concrete walls.
