Presentation

Jacqueline Taber was born and raised in London, but in 1963, she went to Florence to study art and Italian. She worked at the Gabinetto del Restauro at the Uffizi and in the afternoon to the studio of Signorina Simi.

She married in 1968 and set up home in Essex, where she worked in picture restoration and undertook several solo shows.

Her career has seen her reach dizzying heights of success, becoming a member of several prestigious societies in the UK, including the Colchester Art Society, the Art Workers Guild and the Royal Society of British Artists.

She has regularly exhibited at the famous Royal Academy Summer Exhibition as well as the Mall Galleries.

Jacqueline Taber’s work is a bold laugh in the face of those who think they know everything the Still Life genre has to offer. Her reduced compositions are imbibed with drama and allure, with her hallmark black and navy backgrounds serve to accentuate the subject in the foreground.

For pieces so small they are so potent, and would do well to grab aesthetic attention from any wall, even on their own.
