Artist Statement:

I started painting when I was about 9, and sold my first painting to a non-family member when I was 13. I had entered it in the county fair. I won first prize in my age category, and sold it for $50.

The county fair was my first "public space" --apart from my dad putting my art on an easel in the living room when new guests were expected. Since then, I've shown my work in galleries in New York, New Jersey, Vermont, and the Midwest, as well as in Assisi, Italy.

I live in New York State but grew up in Ohio and Michigan. That's why I have so many paintings of the Midwest. Landscapes have always been the main attraction for me wherever I go—especially farms and France, and farms in France. Luckily for me, landscapes are everywhere, so I'm spoiled for choice. The world is full of inspiration!
