Biography
Born in 1951 in Neuenhain, Elvira Bach is a German painter. She lives and works in Berlin.
She studied glass at Staatlcihe Glasfachschule Hadamar and visual arts at the Academy of Arts in Berlin. She worked as a prop artist and prompter for the Schaubühne am Halleschen Ufer theater, for almost ten years.
In 1982, she was the first woman invited to participate at the Documenta de Kassel. During the same year, she joined the artist residency of Saint Dominique in Dominican Republic. A little later, she moved to Senegal for a while, where she got married and had two children.
In addition to painting and glass work, the artist also makes bronze sculptures in large formats.
