Accumulations de façades
Bien que l'architecture de chaque bâtiment est un sujet d’étude à lui seul, rien n’évoque mieux l'effervescence de la ville qu’une accumulation joyeuse de façades de bâtiments. Qu'il s'agisse d'une peinture de street art ou d'un plan pour une conception architecturale, les façades inspirent l'artiste. Des œuvres comme « Vue de l’église de la Salute depuis l’entrée du Grand Canal » (1727) de Giovanni Antonio Canal (Canaletto) avaient déjà mis en évidence l'importance de la « veduta » (vue en français). La « veduta » italienne, comme toute tentative de capturer un paysage urbain, souligne la perspective monumentale des bâtiments le long des rives de Venise, tout en annonçant la manière dont la ville allait se développer. À mesure que le paysage urbain a été peint et dépeint par les artistes, il a changé, a vécu mille mutations, s’est déplacé et s'est agrandi. Les villes médiévales sont parfois qualifiées métaphoriquement de lasagnes, avec leurs couches successives d'architecture superposées qui ont donné naissance aux rues que nous arpentons désormais. Dans la sélection d'œuvres d'Artsper, Marion Zimmermann attire l'attention sur cette caractéristique du paysage urbain, tandis que Logan Hicks a été le pionnier du travail au pochoir dans les années 90. Grâce à la stratification, le street artiste accumule les façades des bâtiments des villes, révélant ainsi leurs nombreux visages.
