Biography
Assad Del Cor is a Belarusian-born contemporary artist, art conservator and educator based in Egypt. His professional career in the arts began in 1994 as a painter and conservator at the P. V. Maslenikov Art Museum in Mogilev, Belarus, where he worked with the restoration of paintings and later specialised in icons, murals and historical artworks in churches and monasteries.
His artistic practice is deeply informed by his knowledge of classical painting, historical art and conservation. After moving to Egypt, the country's landscapes, cultural heritage and distinctive visual atmosphere became an important influence on his artistic language. Del Cor combines acrylic, mixed media and natural coffee, using coffee as a natural pigment to create distinctive earthy tones, tonal depth and tactile surfaces. This unconventional material connects his contemporary practice with the everyday cultural environment of Egypt while giving his works a recognisable and organic character.
Since 2000, Del Cor has also been active as an art educator, conducting painting and drawing workshops and teaching in Belarus, Russia and Egypt. In 2009, he founded the Bonifacy Art Studio in Hurghada, where he continues to share his experience and knowledge with emerging artists.
Alongside his artistic and educational practice, Del Cor has participated in international art initiatives, exhibitions, plein-air projects and symposiums in Egypt and Belarus. His recent activities include an international art symposium in Siwa Oasis, Egypt, as well as exhibitions and plein-air projects organised in Belarus by the Belarusian Union of Artists and major regional art institutions. In 2025, he participated in the 29th International Painting Plein Air and the republican exhibition-competition in Minsk.
Today, Assad Del Cor's work brings together historical memory, Egyptian cultural heritage and contemporary artistic expression. Through acrylic, mixed media and natural coffee pigment, he creates works that establish a dialogue between tradition and the present, combining the discipline of a conservator with the freedom of a contemporary artist.
