Werner Bokelberg (born October 22, 1937 in Bremen; died August 20, 2024 in Hamburg) was a German photographer and actor. He lived and worked in Hamburg, Paris, and New York.Although he had already followed training as a photographer, Bokelberg was attracted to the profession of actor.At the age of 19, he decided to become an actor and enrolled in the dramatic arts school at the Wiesbaden Conservatory, where he took classes from Axel Ivers and Robert Kleinert.He eventually returned to his initial profession.From 1962 to 1972, he worked as a photographer for the magazine *Stern*, immortalizing personalities such as Uschi Obermaier, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Brian Jones, Andy Warhol, Romy Schneider and Rainer Langhans, as well as the May 68 movement.As an actor, he plays his own role—that of a photographer—in the comedy *Sylvie* by Klaus Lemke, released in 1973.Subsequently, he works as a commercial photographer and participates in many major campaigns, notably for Deutsche Bank and Lufthansa.
