Description
A woman’s face gradually emerges from a dark, atmospheric field of blue and violet. Expressive brushstrokes partially conceal her features, creating a portrait that feels both intimate and elusive. Indigo and silvery-blue tones shimmer against muted ochre and warm beige, balancing coolness with a subtle sense of warmth.
The loose, layered paintwork allows the image to shift between recognizable form and abstraction. Its quiet intensity invites the viewer to pause and consider the emotions held within the face—tenderness, vulnerability, and mystery. This contemporary portrait brings depth and a contemplative presence to a living room, bedroom, or reading space, and may appeal to collectors who value expressive, emotionally resonant artwork.

Presentation
Yuriy Khudov is a contemporary artist. Trained in furniture design and artistic woodcarving, he spent 13 years in the film industry as an art director, concept artist, and 3D modeler before shifting his focus toward figurative painting and drawing. His background also includes visual merchandising and work on the creation and restoration of wooden crosses on the Solovetsky Islands.
Yuriy's practice marks a deliberate move away from digital precision toward ambiguity, physical texture, and expressive gesture. Working across oil painting, drawing, and mixed media, he explores psychological states that exist between clarity and dissolution. Female figures often emerge from darkness or appear suspended between dream, memory, and physical presence. Rather than using color and light to describe reality, Yuriy employs them to create emotional tension and stillness. Unfinished forms, visible brushwork, and disrupted surfaces allow the image to remain open, shifting between recognition and abstraction.
