Description

The artist explores here a balance between intuition and structure. The canvas unfolds an aerial composition where avian silhouettes seem to take flight. The movement is captured with precision. Shades of deep blue and gray interweave on a light background.

The technique mixes acrylic with collage and sand. This mixture creates a tactile relief and a rich material. The textures accumulate to suggest the density of the air and the fluidity of the sky. Each layer brings a new depth to the gaze.

The gesture is free and assured. The abstraction gives way to a personal interpretation of the journey and escape. The light passes through the composition, highlighting the chromatic contrasts.

This work plays on the superposition of planes. The forms merge and distinguish themselves according to the viewpoint. The whole evokes an open horizon and a quest for freedom. The presence of sand accentuates the organic nature of the whole.

Presentation

Born in 1977 in Hô-Chi-Minh-City, Vietnam, Olivier Messas is a painter living between France and Germany. After moving to France from Vietnam at the age of two, he quickly developed an independent character while remaining attached to his family and cultural values.

Initially orientated towards studies in accounting, Messas did not find satisfaction in this path and turned to fashion and styling before finally finding his true mode of expression in painting. His art, a subtle blend of realism and spirituality, draws inspiration from his many travels and encounters with different cultures. He distinguishes himself through vivid colors and clean lines, representing a balance between his emotions and his cultural heritage.

Olivier Messas regularly exhibits his work in Europe and Asia, and has received numerous awards, including the "Peinture & Sculpture" prize at the Salon International d'Art Contemporain in Saint-Tropez in 2016. His work is recognized for its ability to create unique atmospheres and moods, making him an artist appreciated for sharing and meeting with the public.

For Messas, artistic creation is an escape from the real world and a way of expressing his imagination and creative impulses. His work aims to strike a coloristic and structural balance, while conveying his impressions and intuitions through harmonious, evocative compositions.
