A Carriage in a Snowy City, 2014

Viktor Konotopsky

S1842

Oil painting A Carriage in a Snowy City Victor Konotopsky is an atmospheric winter genre scene that captures the quiet rhythm of urban life in a snow-covered setting. A white horse pulling a carriage becomes the focal point of the composition, set against historic buildings, deep blue sky, and luminous winter streets. Konotopsky demonstrates exceptional artistic mastery through confident brushwork, expressive texture, and a refined understanding of form, light, and spatial balance. The artist skillfully combines cool whites, blues, grays, and muted violets with warm ochre architecture and subtle yellow accents, creating a harmonious seasonal palette. Simplified shapes and carefully placed contours give the horse, carriage, and buildings a strong decorative clarity while preserving the realism of the scene. Rich surface texture enhances the impression of snow and cold air, while the balanced composition creates a sense of movement and nostalgia. This original oil painting is ideal for collectors of winter cityscapes, horse art, carriage scenes, urban landscapes, expressive realism, and distinctive fine art.
