Description

Set of two original paintings

Dialogues of Lines I & II explores the expressive possibilities of a restrained palette and an architectural vocabulary. Across two canvases, Inna Pupina arranges black vertical forms, fine linear structures and expansive white passages alongside warm sand-coloured planes.

The compositions share a visual language while maintaining distinct internal rhythms. Narrow outlines overlap broader painted shapes, introducing suggestions of depth and perspective. Diagonal transitions interrupt the vertical movement, directing the gaze between the upper and lower areas of each canvas.

Their relationship becomes particularly apparent when the paintings are displayed together. Repeated black forms establish continuity, while differences in placement and proportion keep the exchange active. The space between the canvases becomes a pause within the larger composition.

Visible canvas texture and variations in the painted surface bring material warmth to the measured geometry. The result balances a clear graphic presence with the individual marks of the artist's hand.

Both original paintings are signed on the front and reverse.. The photographed reverse of panel II bears the title, artist's signature, medium, year and dimensions.

Presented by Abstract Art Gallery, Riga. Delivered stretched on wooden stretchers and ready to hang, without decorative frames. One gallery-issued Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the pair, together with the gallery's lifetime authenticity guarantee. Professionally packed and insured during transit.

Presentation

Inna Pupina is a contemporary painter whose practice centres on the emotional life of landscape. Working exclusively in acrylic on canvas, she develops compositions that move beyond topographical description toward atmosphere, sensation and inner experience.
Her signature approach combines expressive layering, refined colour harmonies and a sustained attention to light — particularly the luminous, shifting quality of Nordic and Eastern European natural environments. Forests, water and sky recur throughout her work not as subjects to be recorded, but as vehicles for contemplating stillness, time and the passage between states.
Pupina's paintings are characterised by their chromatic depth: violets, blues and greens are built through successive transparent glazes, generating a sense of visual resonance that photographs rarely capture in full. The surface holds both spontaneity and control — gestural passages sit alongside areas of quiet precision, creating compositions that reward sustained looking.
Represented by Abstract Art Gallery since 2013, Inna Pupina's original works are held in private collections across Europe. Her paintings are appreciated for their capacity to transform a domestic or professional interior into a space of contemplation — present without being intrusive, decorative without being passive.
She exhibits internationally and continues to develop her practice from her studio in Riga, Latvia.
